Monarch Ocean Pub

Social Syndicate, a San Diego hospitality group already running bars like The Local and OB Surf Lodge, opened this rooftop pub in December 2020 in the 5,600-square-foot space that last held Epazote Mexican atop Del Mar Plaza. The kitchen runs a California coastal menu of ceviche, crispy calamari, steak frites and fish and chips, with cocktails like a POG Mai Tai and an Oaxacan Sunburn alongside wine and draft beer. Live music rotates through the room, with an open-air deck over the Pacific.
