Set close to Moonlight State Beach in Encinitas, Herb & Sea is chef Brian Malarkey and Chris Puffer's seafood companion to their Herb & Wood in Little Italy. Executive chef Aidan Owens blends Mediterranean technique with local catch and produce from Dassi Farms and fisherman John Law, turning out wood-fired mains like Berkshire pork and a whole fresh-catch fish alongside pizzas and pastas. Art deco-inspired decor and an open-air patio fill up by early evening most nights.
