San Diego's Guerrero-state community found a home at Todo Pa' La Cruda when it opened in Grant Hill in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, drawing regulars in search of flavors like the citrus soda Yoli. Elizabeth Ruiz, a real estate agent, runs the kitchen with her mother, Doña Antonia, who once cooked for celebrities and dignitaries in Mexico and trained the staff in recipes for menudo, caldo de mariscos and scratch-made pozole verde. The all-day menu also covers mole chilaquiles, shrimp aguachile, birria, tacos and burritos.
