Bayshore Bikeway (Silver Strand Bikeway)

This paved, flat path follows a former rail corridor built in 1888 by the Coronado Railroad Company, running from the Ferry Landing Marketplace along the Silver Strand toward Imperial Beach and Chula Vista. Riders pass the Hotel del Coronado, the U.S. Naval Amphibious Base where the Navy SEALs train, and the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge, a 3,900-acre wetland home to migratory birds. San Diego Bay sits on one side of the Strand and the open Pacific on the other, with about 13 miles of the full 24-mile loop kept car-free.
