Maurizio's Trattoria Italiana

Three Italian natives, Maurizio Carbone, Fabio Montagna, and chef Antonio Pappagallo (the latter two both from Naples), opened this trattoria at the corner of D Street and Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas in 2020. The kitchen runs handmade pasta with customizable sauce pairings alongside dishes like Carciofini alla Romana, cioppino, and orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe, plus wood-fired mains and fresh seafood. Seating spills onto a sidewalk patio a few blocks from the beach, with an all-Italian staff.
