The Mastellone family opened this Hillcrest restaurant in 1995, and the San Diego Reader still describes the room as narrow and ever-crowded. The menu runs through a regional Italian potpourri: veal in a brandy cream sauce, straw-and-hay pesto pasta, shellfish pasta, with ossobuco among the standbys regulars order. A wine bar off the main room is set up for private dining.
