Twelve floors above Bankers Hill atop the Manchester building, Mister A's has served San Diego since 1965 behind floor-to-ceiling windows that take in Balboa Park, the bay and the downtown skyline. Chef Stephane Voitzwinkler, in the kitchen for two decades, builds a French-trained menu around dishes like caviar tater tots, hiramasa crudo with dragon fruit agua fresca and a duck breast with huckleberry gastrique. A 2022 renovation modernized the 11,000-square-foot dining room and expanded the private Blue Room while keeping decades of restaurant memorabilia on display.
