Mimmo’s Italian Village

In Little Italy, what started in 1968 as an Italian Sausage Co. storefront grew into a deli, bakery and grocery before becoming Mimmo's Italian Village, one of three restaurants left from the neighborhood's original wave. Founder Vincenzo "Mimmo" Gaglio, who arrived from Sicily by way of Tunisia and a Bronx cheese factory, built the menu around scratch-made pasta dishes like campanelle with sausage and chicken parmigiana. Seating spreads across an indoor "village" room and a front-and-back patio, with no reservations taken.
