Rudford's Restaurant

This El Cajon Boulevard diner has run every hour of every day since 1949. A blown-up black-and-white photo on the outside wall shows JFK's motorcade passing by in 1963, on its way to a commencement speech at San Diego State University. Counter stools, a row of booths and outdoor seating fill the room, and the all-day menu runs from omelets and pancakes through burgers and steaks to a dessert case of pies, sundaes and banana splits.
