Tom Ham’s Lighthouse

On Harbor Island, this restaurant is the only one in the country built around a functioning, active US Coast Guard beacon, a fixture since 1971. The Baumann family, descendants of founder Tom Ham, still runs it, and a 2012 remodel added oysters, lobster and scallops to the menu, along with 32 beer taps. Sunday brunch runs as a full buffet with a raw bar, an omelet station and a dessert table.
