Hillcrest Brewing

Billed as the world's first openly gay brewery when it opened in 2012, this Hillcrest spot is part of the Mo's Universe family that also runs Urban Mo's, Baja Betty's and Gossip Grill, and once brewed charity batches for Pulse Nightclub victims and World AIDS Day. It stopped brewing on site in 2020 but kept the name, now pouring more than two dozen taps from other San Diego breweries. The scratch kitchen makes its own dough and sauces for wings, pretzels, meatballs and pizza, served in a garden patio setting with a daily discounted 'Hoppy Hour.'
