Bushwick Inlet Park

A local group ran a "Where's Our Park?" campaign for a decade after the park was promised in 2005 as the city's giveback for rezoning the Williamsburg and Greenpoint waterfront, and most of its 27 planned acres sat undeveloped in the meantime. The south side once held Charles Pratt's Astral Oil refinery, whose contamination still keeps that section closed; the north side is where the ironclad USS Monitor launched from the Continental Iron Works in 1862. What's open today includes a soccer field from 2010 and the 50 Kent Street lawn, a former gas-tank site opened in 2022.
