Chef Nick Pfannerstill's cocktail bar occupies a small room on a quiet stretch of Amsterdam Avenue, tropical wallpaper behind big front windows and a neon sign over the bar. Drinks split into two menu categories, Kinda Classic and Kinda Not, the latter running to a pepper jelly julep and a cocktail called Assemble the Empire. Dinner goes beyond bar snacks, with a chicory caesar salad and a fried chicken sandwich among the plates. A second location operates in Dumbo under the same name, this one on the Upper West Side.
