Vanguard Wine Bar

With no hard liquor on the list, Vanguard Wine Bar built its menu around two dozen or so wines by the glass and bottle, alongside cheese and charcuterie boards, savory tarts and small snacks like marinated olives and pimento cheese. Owner Stefan Mailvaganam opened this Amsterdam Avenue room in 2014, his second Vanguard after one in Kips Bay. It doesn't take reservations, so a seat depends on when you arrive, and the kitchen closes at midnight while the bar stays open later. The room is ADA accessible from street level.
