The Pony Bar

Poured only American-brewed beer since opening in 2009, this Upper East Side bar was among the first in the city built entirely around that idea. Twenty-plus taps rotate through craft names most drinkers won't recognize, alongside two hand-pumped cask ales. Wood stools and a blue-painted facade with flags flanking the door mark the entrance on First Avenue, with TVs inside tuned to sports. Happy hour runs 4:20 to 6:20pm Tuesday through Friday, and all day Monday.
