Behind a velvet rope that plays up a speakeasy idea despite the address being no secret, this bar sits on the ground floor of the Arlo SoHo hotel. Renwick Hospitality's Gary Wallach and chef Carsten Johannsen built the space around mid-century glamour, all Rat Pack style and low light, and split the cocktail menu into eras, with sections labeled Fox's Fancy, Fanciful Kitchen Classics, Punch and Libation. Tuesday and Thursday nights bring live piano or a swing band, and the kitchen keeps to light fare rather than a full dinner menu.
