Spring Lounge has cycled through names since opening as an illegal takeout beer shop in the 1920s: Chappy's in the 1940s, then Wilson's 10:30 in the 1960s, named for the nightly craps games that ran in the basement at that hour. Pat and Vincent "Jimmy Red" Casserta took it over in the late 1970s and hung two stuffed sharks in the front room, which is why regulars still call it the Shark Bar. It's open until 4am most nights and still draws a mostly local crowd.
