After Bruce Ratner's Atlantic Yards project forced it out of its original Dean Street corner in 2010, Freddy's rebuilt on Fifth Avenue using pieces of the old bar: a 1940s mahogany counter and bathroom walls still carrying decades of regulars' graffiti. The kitchen runs until 2am, sending out reubens and loaded fries alongside the beer taps. The back room turns over most nights to something else entirely — comedy open mic on Monday and Wednesday, burlesque every Thursday.
