Flavien Desoblin, who opened Brandy Library in 2004, built Dram Central twice its size at 14 E 44th Street, a few blocks from Grand Central. The bar stocks more than 2,000 whiskies (about 50 Ardbeg expressions, every Octomore release, and vintage Glenmorangie back to 1975) alongside tequilas, mezcals and cognacs. A full-service kitchen serves Scotch eggs, steak tartare and filet mignon with a cognac peppercorn sauce. A members-only room upstairs, the Bridge Whist Club, hosts private tastings.
