The Rum House

Inside the Edison Hotel just off Times Square, this piano bar dates to the 1970s and was overhauled in 2009 by the team behind Tribeca's Ward III, adding rum-forward cocktails without touching the red banquettes, dark wood and mirrors. Live piano and jazz play every night, and reservations only apply Wednesday through Saturday -- the rest of the week is walk-in only. Eater has counted it among the city's best cocktail bars, tucked a block from the tourist crush outside.
