P.J. Clarke's On The Hudson

Vesey Street ends at the Hudson inside Brookfield Place, where P.J. Clarke's added a nearly 1,900-square-foot oyster bar behind whitewashed brick and oak tongue-and-groove paneling. A wood-fired oven turns out pizzas topped with oysters alongside standards like Oysters Rockefeller and clams casino, while the kitchen still sends out the Clarke and 1884 cheeseburgers from the original saloon's menu. Bar stools run navy leather or cognac, and tables between the raw bar and the marina café look straight across the river toward New Jersey. The original P.J. Clarke's opened in 1884; this location came along under owner Phil Scotti, who bought the brand in 2002.
