Ring the doorbell at 48 West 17th Street and you're let into a dimly lit lounge styled like a Victorian apartment: tufted leather sofas, layered curtains, exposed brick, and booths fitted with call buzzers for the waitstaff. Raines Law Room opened in 2009, and its bar program was built by a veteran of Milk & Honey. Tables fill up quickly, so reservations, taken through Resy, are the way in rather than a walk-in seat at the bar.
