More than fifty portraits line the walls of this cocktail bar inside the Fifth Avenue Hotel, giving it the look of a cluttered Victorian drawing room stocked with couches, rugs and armchairs. Bartender Darryl Chan built the drink list around ingredients like bay leaf and sesame oil-washed gin, aiming for cocktails that nod to places well beyond Manhattan. A dry-aged burger anchors the short food menu, and reservations are recommended since the compact room fills up fast.
