On the corner of East 4th Street and the Bowery since 1968, Phebe's has outlasted most of the East Village around it. Televisions fill both the front bar and the back room, so a table doubles as a spot to watch whatever game is on. The kitchen runs past pub standards into a full dinner menu: chicken pot pie, beer-battered fish and chips, a strip steak. Monday keeps a burger special going, Tuesday a taco one.
