Empellón Al Pastor

Chef Alex Stupak runs this hyper-casual taco counter on the corner of St. Marks Place and Avenue A, across from Tompkins Square Park. The kitchen turns out al pastor cooked on a spit with pineapple, alongside bar snacks and rotating weekly specials that change out every Thursday. Eighteen beers rotate on tap alongside a menu of margaritas and other cocktails, with a happy hour on weekdays and late-night taco specials on Fridays and Saturdays.
