Fontainhas

A quiet stretch of Jay Street in Dumbo holds Fontainhas, an all-day cafe, wine bar and market named after the historic Latin Quarter in Goa, India. The wrap, built on khichdi, pickled and raw vegetables, yogurt and a choice of chicken or paneer, anchors the food menu, and the royal chai, finished with a layer of sea salt cream and a sprinkle of saffron and served in a chalice, draws as much attention as the food. An attached shop called Dukaan sells South Asian pantry goods, from spice blends to imported snacks, for cooking at home.
