Lobby Bar

The Hotel Chelsea's first bar occupies the ground floor of the building, which dates to 1884, where co-owner Sean MacPherson set out to build what he called "the grande dame of lobby bars." Jewel-toned seating, vintage lamps and a marble bar keep the old-hotel mood, and the cocktail list riffs on drinks from hotel bars elsewhere: a Duke Martini after Dukes in London, an Arnaud's French 75 from New Orleans. Snacks lean toward caviar and potato chips, dirty martini oysters, and beef tartare.
