Behind a coffee shop counter on 9th Avenue, a door opens onto Bathtub Gin, a Prohibition-styled room built around a namesake bathtub and a gin list heavy on small-batch labels. Cocktails from bar director Sean Muldoon include the West Side, made with sherry, St-Germain, cucumber and basil, and the rum-based Jazz Age. Live music, burlesque and late-night DJ sets run through the week, alongside a kitchen turning out fried oysters and pork belly sliders. A reservation through OpenTable is the surer way in.
