Hotel Chelsea (Lobby Bar)

The Lobby Bar sits inside the Hotel Chelsea, a red-brick building whose past residents include Leonard Cohen, Patti Smith, Dylan Thomas, Iggy Pop and Storme DeLarverie. The room looks like a chateau foyer from the 1970s, with rugs, cheetah-print chairs and a chandelier over a long marble bar. A fern-lined garden room sits to one side. The signature 1884 Martini, made with gin, cedro lemon, vetiver and Spanish olive oil, is poured alongside small plates, wine and beer, daily from 11am to 2am.
