Vander Ende-Onderdonk House

Peter Stuyvesant granted the land in the mid-1600s, and by 1709 Paulus Vander Ende had built the fieldstone farmhouse that still stands on it, the oldest Dutch stone house left in New York City. The Onderdonk family bought the property in 1821, and after a fire nearly took the building down in 1975, neighbors organized as the Greater Ridgewood Historical Society to save it, reopening it as a museum in 1982. Two acres of gardens surround the house, which the Historical Society also rents out for weddings and corporate events.
