A narrow room on Halsey Street in Bed-Stuy holds a cocktail bar, a coffee counter, a kitchen and a nightly stage for live music, small enough that arriving early matters if a table matters more than standing. Sets mostly start around 9pm on a pass-the-hat basis, with suggested donations going straight to the musicians, and Sunday afternoons turn into a gospel brunch. The room reads more like a bar found in South America than a typical New York spot, and the kitchen runs a dinner menu into the night alongside a list of rum, tequila and aperitivo drinks.
