Persian rugs cover the floor and the stage is really just a cluster of rugs at this room on Suydam Street, opened in 2021 by the team behind Smalls in the West Village, in a space that had been the queer bar Bodeguita. Folding chairs face the band, and the owners' teacup poodle wanders between them. A rotating cast of vegan chefs cooks through the week, and music runs most nights with no cover, often two sets. A second floor holds games within earshot of the band, and the roof opens for performances once the weather turns warm.
