Rudy’s Bar & Grill

A dive bar since 1933, Rudy's still has the original wood door carved down the center with the first owners' name. Cheap drafts and free hot dogs with any purchase are the draw, served in a dark, narrow room with red booths patched over in duct tape. A walled-in back patio appears whenever the weather's good, and three mosaics from the early '90s, including one of Ella Fitzgerald and Count Basie, nod to the building's jazz-club past. It's the Rudy's namechecked in Steely Dan's "Black Cow."
