MarieBelle Cacao Bar

Maribel Lieberman, who grew up around cacao fields in Honduras, runs this chocolate shop and its Cacao Bar in the back at 484 Broome Street. Walk past the retail counter of ganache and truffles and the tea salon opens up behind it, serving dark, milk, and white hot chocolate in four- or eight-ounce cups alongside a chocolate chip cookie served warm enough to still be chewy in the middle. The tables are small and set close together, so the room fills up fast on weekends. Reservations through OpenTable help on a Saturday, when a walk-in can mean a wait.
