Harry’s

Harry Poulakakos, a Greek immigrant who trained under old-world steakhouse cooks at Delmonico's, opened Harry's in the basement of an 1854 building at Hanover Square in 1972, a block from Wall Street. Steaks are cooked in that same old-world style, and the wine list runs to more than 30,000 labels, with a 2,600-label reserve set aside for serious collectors alongside a shorter list for anyone not chasing a rare vintage. It's stayed a Wall Street fixture for both lunch meetings and after-work drinks for more than fifty years.
