About this spot
Frank Gehry's curved stainless-steel hall opened in October 2003 on a full city block of downtown, built after Lillian Disney, the animator's widow, gave the funding that got it started. Acoustician Yasuhisa Toyota lined the 2,265-seat auditorium in Douglas fir, arranging the seats around the stage rather than facing it head-on. It's the year-round home of the LA Philharmonic and the LA Master Chorale, part of the wider Music Center campus.
