The Wolves

Inside an annex of the Alexandria Hotel on Spring Street -- a 1906 building that once hosted Theodore Roosevelt and Mary Pickford before falling into disrepair after the Depression -- The Wolves built its bar under a domed stained-glass ceiling salvaged from an Illinois train station. Antique mahogany booths, a white marble bar counter and Batchelder tile floors fill the room, and bitters, liqueurs and vermouths are all made in house for a menu that changes with the seasons. Standing room isn't offered, so a wait is common when it fills up.
