Redbird

In the rectory of St. Vibiana Cathedral in downtown LA -- the building where the parish's priests once lived -- chef Neal Fraser and Amy Knoll Fraser opened Redbird in 2015 after an extensive restoration. The menu runs from a play on chicken pot pie to a 32-ounce Porterhouse built for sharing and a duck dish finished with house-made XO sauce, served across a Main Hall, five private dining rooms and a garden. Weekend brunch adds shrimp and grits and duck confit chilaquiles, and the bar program runs monthly wine-pairing dinners alongside the regular menu.
