Foxy's Restaurant

Most tables at this 1964 A-frame on Colorado Street come with a toaster, so you brown your own bread. Foxy's was a chain of three when it opened, and Glendale's was the first built under the peaked roof: dark wood planks overhead, a stone fireplace at each end, corner booths beside them. The menu runs past 20 pages, with Mexican breakfasts like chilaquiles and machaca, a page of Benedicts and another of vegan plates, then lunch, dinner and cocktails. Weekend brunch brings a wait.
