Melrose Umbrella Co.

Opened in 2013 by Austin Melrose and Zach Patterson, Melrose Umbrella Co. runs a Prohibition-themed cocktail bar on Melrose Avenue. The dimly lit main room opens onto a heated back patio with a fireplace and couches, and the drink list splits into five sections -- bright and refreshing, tiki-inspired, spirit-forward, and four house takes on the Old Fashioned -- plus a scorpion bowl for the table. Weekend brunch and taco bites round out the food menu, in a room small enough that it rarely draws a line or a cover charge.
