Three Sisters Reserve

A restored 21-acre stretch of coastal sage scrub inside this 99-acre reserve is now habitat for the threatened California gnatcatcher, home also to rare wildflowers and other bird species. It opens an hour before sunrise and closes an hour after sunset, with no parking lot or beach access on site. Trails reached from the end of Ocean Terrace Drive run moderate to strenuous, climbing along the bluffs toward ocean views.
