Point Vicente Lighthouse

The tower's Fresnel lens was hand-ground in Paris in 1886 and spent forty years in an Alaska lighthouse before its installation here in 1926, when the U.S. Lighthouse Service lit the beacon from 185 feet above the water. The tower itself is 67 feet tall and was automated in 1971. Its interior opens to visitors only on the second Saturday of each month, when children under seven and pets are turned away at the door.
