Bradbury Building

Finished in 1893 for mining millionaire Lewis Bradbury, the building is the oldest commercial structure left in downtown LA, designed by George Wyman after the architect Bradbury first hired was let go. Its atrium rises through open cage elevators, marble stairs and ironwork railings under an overhead skylight -- the same stairs Harrison Ford climbed searching for replicants in Blade Runner. Walking into the atrium costs nothing, and most visitors spend fifteen to thirty minutes taking in the ironwork before moving on.
