Hopkins Wilderness Park

In the middle of Redondo Beach, an eleven-acre pocket of forest, meadow and ponds opened in 1977 as a place for city kids to camp and study nature without leaving town. Overnight camping runs through three separate campgrounds by reservation, each holding up to forty people, and day picnickers can book the same sites in two-session blocks. Ducks and turtles fill the front pond; the back one, restored in 2026, stays wilder and sees fewer visitors.
