Karla Flores-Mercado turned a pop-up called Sip into this permanent bar up a tiled staircase in Echo Park, where ceiling fans move air through open windows onto a patio strung with bougainvillea. A taco cart runs off the patio Wednesday through Sunday, serving asada, chicken, mushroom, and fried rockfish tacos alongside nachos and a chips-and-salsa starter. The drink list leans on mezcal and margaritas, no reservations are taken, and Wednesdays carry a standing margarita special.
