A basement bar under this Main Street building was carved out of a 2,000-square-foot wine cellar and still runs as Basement Tavern, its walls lined with plush green couches under a vintage chandelier. Upstairs, the kitchen serves a Mediterranean-leaning American menu with weekend brunch, and the bar builds a deep cocktail and wine list. Live music plays some nights in the basement room, and things stay calmer during the weekday happy hour than after dark on weekends.
