The Penmar

A golf course built in 1962 in Mar Vista holds this restaurant; the dining room's tables are hand-carved to mimic the course's sand traps, part of a mid-century redesign by local design firm LANDLOCD. No membership is required, so golfers and walk-ins share a heated, covered patio over wood-fired pizzas, burgers and breakfast tacos, with a full coffee bar open from 7am. The Sunset Sessions bring live local music on Fridays from 5:30 to 9pm, and dogs are welcome on the patio.
