This space ran for decades as The Capri, a red-sauce Italian restaurant Joe and Helen Sams opened in 1963, until it closed in 2019 and Eagle Rock local Robert Fleming reopened it as Capri Club. Chef Francesco Allegro, from Puglia, cooks rigatoni with sausage ragu, meatballs and cacio e pepe suppli, while a slushie machine turns out frozen negronis at the circular bar. The red booths and wood paneling carry over from the old restaurant, and the open front window lets the sidewalk crowd spill in. It's walk-ins only, and a table can take the better part of an hour on a busy night.
