Hank Kagawa took over this market from his uncle Harry Kuruma in 1956 and has run it since 1968; the family has sold seafood here since 1948 from a strip-mall storefront indistinguishable from the appliance store next door. A case just inside the door holds six kinds of oysters, five kinds of poke, and swordfish, halibut, hamachi and snapper, with a board listing whether each comes fried, grilled or raw. Prepared meals and catering come out of the same galley kitchen.
