The Roxy Theatre

Neil Young and Crazy Horse played the first three nights when this Sunset Strip club opened in September 1973 under founders Lou Adler, Elliot Roberts and David Geffen. Bob Marley and the Wailers cut a live album on this stage in 1976, and Bruce Springsteen's Live/1975-85 pulled tracks from shows here in both 1975 and 1978; the Ramones played their first California date here that same year. The room holds 500, with an upstairs bar, On the Rox, that has quietly hosted the likes of John Lennon and George Carlin since the club opened.
